ON THE WINGS OF CHANGE

Elections state wide in 2011 have brought new faces, ideas and opportunities for our organization. Change is always a challenge at first. However we must remember the opportunities that change brings and the outcomes whether they are personal or professional are what growing in life are all about.

The opportunities for our organization are hugh this year. As an association new faces on our district and state boards bring new ideas and approaches. The opportunity for growth in our association membership is exciting. The opportunity for professional development and service for others is worth the personal sacrifice that our volunteer leaders have to make. Why? It makes a difference in someone's life.

Other opportunities are the upcoming conference in Northern New Mexico as it will be the talk of our membership. The changes in MDS 3.0 bring more attention to individual specific programs and accommodations. With that expanded explanation of expectations come new challenges for our profession who often work under staffed, under funded and in many places not even respected as a discipline in the healing process.

In this changing world one thing is for sure. The people who run things are the people who show up and are an active part of the change. So be active and be part of the change. Good luck and thank you for your time and service to all of our out going and incoming board members!!

Gandhi said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world."
