The 8th Annunal Governor's Award for Non-Profit Volunteer Programs was awarded to Christine Sandoval and Sharon
Inoue of Santa Fe Care Center. The award is given in recognition of the planning and execution of a community volunteer program.
"We work as a team. Sharon basically plans and cooridnates for materials. I get the volunteers organized/involved and
keep them coming back. Our secret weapon is the residents themselves. When the community sees their willingness to help others,
so does the community", says Christine.
If you know of an Activity Professional who really does a good job in their
field and deserves either the Helen Dickey Award or the Advancement Award, its never to early to nominate them. If there is
someone you know that deserves either of these awards get out your nominations paperwork, copy them, and have co-workers,
residents, administrator's, and friends write a nomination or letter of support. Send them to the attention of:
